If you’re a small business owner, you may not want to invest thousands of dollars in billboard advertising. That doesn’t mean, however, that you can’t take advantage of outdoor advertising methods in promoting your business.

One common outdoor advertising that any business can use is vehicle advertisements. If your company owns a delivery truck or any company vehicle, invest the money in making the vehicle a driving advertisement. Don’t just paint your company name and phone number on it, either. Treat your vehicle as you would any other advertisement use a catchy headline, offer benefits, and use a call to action.

The movie The Devil Wears Prada was brought a lot of attention to the issue of designer clothing lately. Most of us enjoy seeing the latest styles and fashions in the magazines and on the movie stars, but in reality most of us can t afford to purchase designer clothing. Some of the outfits they offer cost more than my entire wardrobe, shoes and all! I wouldn t want to spend that much on an outfit anyway as quickly as the styles change in our society.

Designer clothing is known for its great quality. However, it has also become a status issue in our society more than the quality of the clothing. Let s face it, most people who were designer

clothing don t wear an outfit enough times for it to see any wear and tear anyway so of course it is going to stand up to the elements. It is amazing how much that name on a pair of jeans or their logo on a sweatshirt inflates the cost of the item.

Even as a large number of tourists continue to patronize dozens of theatres, lounges and auditoriums, heavy discounts are often available for a number of productions shows in Las Vegas — be it a general concert, musical, comedy shows, adult oriented entertainment, magic show or Broadway-type plays. Most of the discounts are offered during the weekdays, but often, some of the weekend shows also offer discounts.

The show discounts are more commonly incorporated within various tour packages, especially with the growing trend of lounges and resorts hosting such shows. In lounges and restaurants, free drinks and food coupons are often parts of the discount package whereas in exclusive auditoriums or theatres, discounts are offered frequently in the form of an additional

free ticket when you buy two at full price. It is easier to get large discounts for those shows, which are advertised well in advance and are open for reservations. Online booking, as well as reservations of tickets months ahead of the actual show, not only secures your seat but also a much lower rate. Corporate flight attendants have a new choice when selecting a company for their cabin safety and service training. Alteon Training, LLC, a Boeing Company, launched a program in November 2003 for corporate flight attendants at their facility in Long Beach, California. I was invited to participate in the class to get a better idea about the training, their facility, and about Alteon itself and to share my findings with the aviation community via this website.

In an industry peppered with training companies of varying sizes and capabilities, my first thoughts about Alteon was that is was just a run-of-the-mill training agency. Alteon not only allayed my original misgivings, but they proved to me that all training companies should be doing the

same thing: operating with the FAA s blessings under FAR Part 142. Indeed, Alteon s program may soon become the benchmark by which all training companies will be judged. This is good news for flight attendants who are confused or even mislead by some of the programs operating around the U.S.
